My BreAnne Story
By Bill Holden

I have many heroes that I have looked up to and admired over the 47 years of living in Huntington. But I would like to share a story with all my Internet visitors who have not heard about a very special person and her current battle with a disease. This is my BreAnne story and this young lady, a former Huntington North basketball player, is now listed at the top of my Hero List.

A few weeks back I was talking to my friend and my customer Keith Miller from J. O. Wolf Tool & Die in Roanoke, Indiana. The conversation started out with me working on some email problems on his web site and during our conversation he told me about his daughter BreAnne. I felt so bad for Keith, his family, and BreAnne and I told him that I would include them in my prayers. I had just learned from Keith that this past summer (2005) she was diagnosed with leukemia and she has had to endure everything that comes with that terrible reality. Since he told me about BreAnne's situation, I have read the newspaper articles and stayed up-to-date by reading through the web site that Keith and Dawn Miller have setup for their daughter BreAnne at the CaringBridge. I felt so helpless while reading through the online journal, I felt sorry for BreAnne and the whole family, and I wanted to fix this problem. If we were talking about an electronic circuit, something mechanical, a household repair, a broken down computer, or a misbehaving web site... I could fix it.  But we are not and I had tears in my eyes. What can I do? Then I started reading through her guestbook and reading quotes from BreAnne. This young lady has more kindness, strength, faith, and determination in her little finger than most people that have worked their whole life to obtain. If we had more people in this world like her it would be a much better place. The outpouring of support in her guestbook really made me feel good and I think everybody can learn a lesson or two from BreAnne. The real BreAnne story is spread over several pages on her web site because you can see how many people she has touched and inspired with her faith.

So to answer my own question... "What can I do?"  I can tell YOU about BreAnne with the power of the Internet, I can use my knowledge and create this web page so I can get the word out to the thousands of people that visit my web sites every week.

Please visit her web site at www.caringbridge.com/visit/breannemiller/

You can also show your support by buying bracelets from the Friends of BreAnne Miller. The bracelets are blue and have the name "BreAnne", three crosses, the word "Strength" and "Isaiah 41:10," which is one of BreAnne's favorite scriptures. The bracelets are being sold for $2.00 each and proceeds will go into a medical expense account that is established for BreAnne at MarkleBank.

Bracelets can be purchased from Margo Breininger at the Huntington Police Dept. in the City Building. The Student Athletic Board at Huntington North High School is also selling the bracelets.

Please visit BreAnne's web site, please sign her guestbook, please say a prayer for her, and, if at all possible, please buy a BreAnne bracelet.

Tell them the guy from Huntington-Indiana.com sent you.
